Our automation structure uses standard, commercially available hardware.
Travel restrictions and time differences are behind us. Whenever you need remote assistance, EME is ready to help you. We set up a VPN tunnel using mGuard security software from Innominate. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) tunnel is an encrypted link between your system and an outside network. Our remote service is provided using the VPN tunnel activation by a hardware switch to offer enhanced security. When necessary, EME can provide remote assistance for its customers using a VPN tunnel. We use mGuard security software from Innominate. The VPN tunnel is activated only by an EME service technician. The hardware firewall shields the workstation from viruses and hacking attacks. It also permits read-only access to export files (containing data in formats that can be imported into the customer ERP system) in the SCADA computer. Most customers choose to export this data through the mGuard firewall.
Analyse and improve your process with EME’s control systems. Our solution offers all the statistics and functions your plant needs for an optimised operation, including log files of alarms and diagnoses. The analysis and improvements of processes are facilitated when plants use the SCADA part of an EME control system. It provides operators with functions and figures that help them identify backlogs or points that call for action. Every change made in the system is recorded. Alarms and diagnoses are logged. In case of disruptions of any kind, EME personnel can check those registers to identify problems and make the appropriate corrections. The charge analysis can display the diagnosis of the dosing accuracy with a simple step. The user must select the chosen component in the detail window and refer to the raw material chosen within this batch composition. The deviation between setpoint and actual values are displayed for the period specified. The tolerance deviations, the scale’s weight at the beginning of the dosing process and the new values calculated each time for the fine flow optimisation are also shown. All this information helps technicians to identify any caking in the scale receptacle.
During the upgrade of a batch house automation system, the main goal is to modernise the equipment with minimum downtime. EME has a successful track record in upgrading or replacing control systems worldwide. Our specialists manage to replace old control systems without stopping the melting process. The batch house is suspended just for brief periods, at a time chosen by the customer.
Visualisation is based on a SCADA system such as the Siemens WinCC. To view the operation details, the user can resort to an overview window that shows the status of individual items. In case of any equipment malfunction or during disturbances, the user can change the operation mode to “manual” to better control the process. Different colours clearly distinguish equipment status in the context menu.
There is no need to invest in any special manufacturer-specific weighing computers. The control system uses a Siemens S7, and the visualisation process uses a WinCC. EME’s control system takes advantage of broadly available hardware. The standard equipment is a Siemens S7 for control and WinCC for the visualisation. The use of Siemens PCS7 or Rockwell is also possible. Everything is tested before delivering to the customer, without the control panels, if necessary. This simulation speeds up the plant’s commissioning and production.
